AI website development with human review means AI drafts the pages, words and code, and a developer tests and fixes all of it before you see a link. A one-page WordPress site can reach you in 48 hours from $199, and a 5-page website takes about a week from $799. The review is the part you are really paying for, because a site can look finished and still lose you customers.
The problems a screenshot will not show
An AI draft of a website usually looks good on first view. The spacing is tidy, the headline sounds confident and the buttons sit in the right place. That polish is exactly why owners approve drafts too quickly. Most of the expensive faults sit where a picture cannot show them:
- A contact form that displays a thank-you message but never sends the email.
- A phone number or street address that looks plausible and is simply made up.
- Opening hours, guarantees or customer quotes the AI invented to fill a gap.
- A menu link that points to a page nobody created.
- A layout that holds on a desktop monitor and spills sideways on a phone.
- Page titles that are identical across the whole site, which makes search results harder to read.
None of this means AI is a bad way to build a site. It means the draft is a starting point, and somebody has to be responsible for the finish.
How AI website development splits the work, layer by layer
Picture a hypothetical plumbing company with six services and one service area. Here is who does what at each layer of its site, the same way our web development work runs.
Structure
AI proposes the page list, the menu and the order of sections from your brief. The developer checks that each service has somewhere to live, that a visitor with a burst pipe can reach the phone number in one tap, and that nothing important is buried three clicks down.
Words
AI writes first-draft headlines and service descriptions quickly. A person then removes anything the business never told us: licenses, response times, years in the trade. Facts must come from you. If a fact is missing, the right move is to ask for it, not to guess.
Design
AI lays out the sections and suggests images and color use. The reviewer looks at contrast, tap target size, font sizes on small screens and whether the page still makes sense when a photo fails to load.
Code
Coded sites and page-builder sites differ here, but the check is similar. AI writes the components quickly. The developer reads what it wrote, removes unused scripts, compresses images, and makes sure forms validate input on the server and not only in the browser.
Launch
AI can generate a redirect map and a meta description for each page. The developer confirms that old addresses still work, that the site is not accidentally blocked from search engines, and that the live form reaches the right inbox.
Eight tests you can run on launch day
You do not need to read code to catch most faults. Set aside half an hour and work through this list on your own phone.
- Send yourself a message through every form, then confirm it arrived.
- Tap each phone number and email link to see that it opens the right app.
- Scroll every page on your phone and look for anything that slides sideways.
- Press the Tab key on a laptop and check that you can see where you are on the page.
- Read every fact out loud: prices, addresses, hours, promises. Mark anything you never supplied.
- Search the pages for leftovers such as “lorem ipsum” or a bracketed placeholder.
- Click every item in the menu and footer.
- Ask who holds the logins for the domain and hosting, and write the answer down.
If a provider resists any of these, treat that as useful information.
Which build fits your budget
Prices below are “from” prices, and the quote you receive is final.
- WordPress website, from $199, 48 hours. A 1-page Elementor site. Good when you need a presence this week and want to edit text yourself. More on WordPress development.
- Business website, from $299, 48 hours. One page, built around a single clear offer.
- 5-page website, from $799, 1 week. The usual choice when each service needs its own page for search.
- Large projects, from $1,000. Accounts, bookings or custom features, quoted from your brief, with a milestone each week.
- A Marketplace template, $39. If you are comfortable editing files, the website templates come from AI and pass a person’s check, and you do the rest.
When this is the wrong purchase
Speed helps only if you know what you are selling. If your offer is still vague, AI will produce a vague site very quickly, and you will spend your revision rounds rewriting your own business. Settle the offer first: the buyer, the price, and the one action you want from a visitor.
Be careful, too, with anything that carries legal weight. A clinic, a law office or a financial adviser can use the same process, but the wording rules are yours to supply, and you should read the final copy closely. A reviewer can catch errors of fact. Only you can confirm what your regulator allows.
Finally, a very complex integration is not a 48-hour job under any process. If the site must talk to your stock system, your booking tool and your accounting software, expect milestones.
Questions to put to any provider
Before paying anyone for an AI-built site, ask these and listen for specifics:
- Who tests the site, and on which devices?
- What exactly happens if you miss the date?
- Who has checked that the facts on the page are mine?
- How many revision rounds are included, and what counts as out of scope?
Our own answers: a developer reviews every delivery, you have 3 revision rounds inside the brief, and you get a full refund for the task if the agreed date is missed.
FAQ
Will my site look like every other AI-built site?
It can, if nobody steers it. Your own photos, plain facts about your business and a specific offer do more to set you apart than any layout. Send them with the brief.
Can I edit the website after delivery?
Yes, and it helps to say how in your brief. A WordPress site lets you change text in the editor. A coded site may suit you better if a developer will handle changes.
Is AI-written code safe to put online?
Not until someone has read it. AI can produce code that works and still trusts user input too much or pulls in a package you do not need. That is why a developer reviews it before release.
What should I send to get started?
Your offer, your real contact details, a few sites you like and why, and your logo if you have one. Expect a quote and a date within 6 business hours.
